New Clients | Acupuncture for Pain Relief & Anxiety

Book Now

Starting acupuncture can feel unfamiliar—but it doesn’t have to be intimidating.

This page will walk you through exactly what to expect so you can feel comfortable and confident before your first visit.

Below is helpful information to prepare for your initial acupuncture appointment. Please review it in advance and feel free to save it for reference. At Eastlake Acupuncture of San Diego, we prioritize clear communication between patient and practitioner. If you have any questions or concerns, we’re always happy to help. With over 15 years of experience providing acupuncture for pain relief, stress, and anxiety in San Diego, our goal is to make your experience straightforward, comfortable, and effective.

This clinic is a good fit if you are:

  •  Dealing with ongoing pain (back, neck, sciatica, migraines, joint pain)
  • Experiencing stress, anxiety, or nervous system overload
  • Tired of temporary fixes and looking for longer-lasting results
  • Seeking focused, results-driven acupuncture care—not a routine or spa-style treatment

What happens during treatment

  •  A comprehensive intake focused on your specific condition and health history
  • A clear, individualized treatment plan outlining what to expect and recommended frequency
  • Acupuncture treatment, often including electroacupuncture when appropriate for pain relief
  • Time to rest comfortably for 20–30 minutes while the treatment takes effect

Each session is designed to be both targeted and restorative—addressing the source of symptoms while allowing your body to fully relax and respond.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?

Most patients experience little to no discomfort. Sensations are typically mild—such as a dull ache, warmth, or heaviness—and many patients feel deeply relaxed or even fall asleep during treatment.

Before Your Appointment

What to know before your first acupuncture appointment:

  •  Wear loose, comfortable clothing
  • Eat a light meal beforehand (avoid coming in too hungry or overly full)
  • Limit caffeine prior to your visit
  • Complete your intake forms in advance online

New patients are welcome

New Patients are welcome.

If you’re ready to get started, you can easily book your first acupuncture appointment online. Availability is updated in real time.

How many session will I need?

Most conditions require a series of treatments. A typical starting plan is 6–8 sessions, with many patients noticing meaningful improvement within the first few visits.

How is this approach different?

  •  Nearly 20 years of clinical experience treating pain conditions
  • Focus on both pain relief and nervous system regulation (stress, tension, recovery)
  • Treatments are adjusted each visit based on your response—not routine or standardized

cancellation policy

Because this is a small, appointment-based practice, we require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to offer that time to another patient in need of care.
