Friday Community Acupuncture Clinic in Kearny Mesa

Affordable, Consistent Care with Dr. Nadia

After nearly two decades of practicing acupuncture in San Diego, one thing has become very clear to me: many of the conditions acupuncture helps the most respond best to consistent treatments over time.

Stress, anxiety, burnout, migraines, sleep disruption, hormonal shifts, and many chronic pain patterns often improve gradually as the nervous system begins to regulate and the body has the opportunity to reset.

For that reason, I offer Community Acupuncture sessions at my clinic — a simple and affordable way for patients to receive acupuncture on a more regular basis.

Community acupuncture is a model of care that makes ongoing treatment more accessible by providing acupuncture in a shared, quiet treatment space rather than a private treatment room.

What Is Community Acupuncture?

Community acupuncture takes place in a quiet, shared treatment space designed to create a calm and relaxing environment. During each session, patients rest comfortably in zero-gravity recliner chairs while acupuncture points are placed primarily on the arms, legs, hands, feet, or ears. Because these areas are easily accessible, patients remain fully clothed—typically just removing shoes and rolling pant legs slightly above the knees.

Treatments generally last about 30–45 minutes, allowing enough time for the body to relax and respond to the acupuncture. In this open treatment setting, I am able to care for several patients during the same time period. This approach keeps visits simple and efficient while making acupuncture significantly more affordable and accessible for people who benefit from receiving care on a regular basis.

Community acupuncture has been used successfully in clinics around the world and has helped thousands of people receive consistent acupuncture treatment for stress, headaches, nervous system regulation, and general wellness support.

Community Acupuncture Pricing

Community acupuncture treatments are $40 per visit (Cash Only) and are paid prior to the start of treatment. This lower-cost clinic model makes it easier for patients to receive the series of treatments that acupuncture typically requires to produce lasting results.

Once your session is complete, you can simply head out and relax—there is no checkout process. If you would like to continue care, you can easily book your next visit from home at your convenience.

Even in this simplified format, you are still receiving care from an experienced practitioner with nearly twenty years of clinical practice.

why is the cost lower

Community acupuncture visits are intentionally designed to be simple, focused and relaxing.

The intake process is brief, allowing the session to focus on supporting your body’s current condition and helping you settle into treatment quickly.

During a community acupuncture visit, the process typically includes:

• A brief update on how you are feeling
• Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment such as tongue and pulse diagnosis
• Placement of acupuncture needles tailored to your condition
• Aromatherapy to support relaxation during treatment
• Ear seeds placed at the end of the session to help extend the therapeutic effect after you leave

The provider interaction during this visit typically lasts about 5–8 minutes, after which you relax comfortably in the recliner while the treatment takes effect.

Because the intake is streamlined and treatments take place in a quiet shared space, the cost can remain low. Most people benefit from receiving acupuncture as a series of treatments, and a minimum course of about six sessions is typically recommended to begin experiencing meaningful results.

Why Many Patients Love COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE

One of the most important principles in acupuncture is treatment frequency.

While some people notice relief after a single treatment, the most meaningful and lasting improvements often occur after several sessions, as the body gradually begins to respond and regulate.

Community acupuncture makes it easier for patients to receive treatments regularly during this process.

In my experience, acupuncture tends to work less like a quick switch and more like a gradual process of helping the body settle, regulate, and recover.

Because treatments are affordable, many patients are able to come more consistently — which often leads to better long-term results.

Who Community Acupuncture Is Best For

Community acupuncture can be an excellent option for people experiencing:

Community acupuncture can be an excellent option for people experiencing:

• Chronic stress or anxiety
• Burnout or nervous system overload
• Sleep disturbances
• Migraines and recurring headaches
• Menopause symptoms
• Mild to moderate musculoskeletal pain
• Knee discomfort or general stiffness

These types of conditions often respond very well to consistent, repeated treatments over time.

Many patients eventually incorporate acupuncture into their routine as a supportive wellness practice for nervous system regulation and overall balance

FERTILITY SUPPORT

Community acupuncture can also be helpful for patients who are already working with a fertility acupuncture specialist in San Diego.

In these situations, community acupuncture may be used as an additional supportive treatment between more comprehensive fertility visits, helping to promote relaxation, circulation, and nervous system balance during the process.

WHEN A PRIVATE ACUPUNCTURE SESSION IS BETTER

Community acupuncture visits use a simplified intake process and focused treatment approach. The evaluation portion of the visit is intentionally brief, which allows more time for you to relax comfortably during the treatment itself.

Because the intake is streamlined, this format is not designed for complex conditions or injuries that require a detailed evaluation or more individualized treatment planning.

For example:

• Acute neck or back injuries
• Sciatica
• Complex orthopedic pain
• Severe flare-ups of musculoskeletal conditions
• Situations requiring detailed diagnosis and multiple treatment techniques

These types of conditions are often better addressed in a private acupuncture session, which allows for more one-on-one time and a broader range of treatment approaches.

If you are unsure which type of visit is most appropriate for your condition, you are always welcome to contact the clinic for guidance.

A Calm, Comfortable Treatment Environment

Although community acupuncture takes place in a shared space, the environment is intentionally designed to feel calm, peaceful, and restorative. The treatment room is arranged as a semi-open sanctuary where patients relax in luxurious zero-gravity recliner chairs rather than traditional treatment tables.

During the session, I move quietly between patients while everyone relaxes comfortably in the group setting. Because the space is open, you may occasionally hear me entering or leaving the room or assisting another patient, but the overall atmosphere remains very calm and unhurried.

Many patients close their eyes, breathe in gentle aromatherapy, listen to soft music, or even fall asleep during treatment. The experience is designed to be deeply relaxing, allowing your body to settle into a parasympathetic state while the acupuncture points do their work supporting the nervous system and restoring balance.

Even though several patients may be receiving treatment at the same time, the space is intentionally designed from top to bottom to feel quiet, comfortable, and restorative.

MY TREATMENT APPROACH

Community acupuncture treatments in my clinic often utilize Balance Method acupuncture, a widely used distal style that uses points on the arms and legs to influence pain patterns, circulation, and nervous system regulation throughout the body. This approach works particularly well in a recliner setting and allows treatments to remain comfortable while patients stay fully clothed.

I also frequently incorporate auricular (ear) acupuncture, which is known for its ability to influence the autonomic nervous system and support stress and pain regulation. Clinical ear acupuncture protocols may include the NADA protocol, Battlefield Acupuncture, or other auricular points selected based on the patient’s presentation.

Many patients leave their visit with ear seeds or small semi-permanent auricular tacks placed on specific points. These provide gentle stimulation for several days after treatment and help extend the therapeutic effect between sessions.

During treatment I may also use a single drop of therapeutic-grade essential oil, most commonly lavender. Aromatic compounds are processed through the olfactory system and limbic brain, areas involved in emotional regulation and autonomic nervous system activity. Research suggests certain botanical aromas may support relaxation and parasympathetic nervous system activation.

The overall goal of treatment is to help the body settle, regulate, and gradually restore balance over time.

how to prepare for your community acupuncture treatment

The most important thing for a great community acupuncture visit is what you wear.

Please arrive wearing shorts or loose pants that can easily be lifted above the knee.

You will also remove shoes and socks during treatment.

Acupuncture points used in community treatments are primarily located on the arms, legs, hands, feet, and ears, so clothing must allow easy access to these areas.

Tight leggings, jeans, or compression clothing prevent access to many of the acupuncture points used in community treatments. Arriving in shorts or loose pants ensures you receive the full benefit of your session.

When in doubt, shorts and a comfortable t-shirt are perfect.

Accessibility Note

My office is located on the second floor and requires one flight of stairs to access. The building was constructed in 1981, and elevator access is not available.

If stairs are difficult for you, please keep this in mind before scheduling. I completely understand that accessibility is important, and there are several excellent community acupuncture clinics in San Diego located on ground floors or with elevator access. If helpful, feel free to call the office and I’m happy to point you in the right direction based on your location.
